"From Here" inspired by a circumstance of separation from my spouse. He was working in another city for an extended period of time and though the song was started in more of a symbolic form, when we parted, it became more literal and referred to actual difference in location. This is the only song on the "Words" sp that is truly vulnerable for me. It puts my doubt and insecurity out there for the listener to hear and hopefully find familiarity with. The prevailing feeling of loneliness dominates these lyrics, and the universal necessity to be heard, and understood. As the world has kept moving over the last few years into an odd time of isolation and separation I have not ever seen, the song has taken on a deeper meaning. Not just about someone missing her partner, but, someone missing life, needing interaction to provide normalcy. Hope you all find something in there that resonates with you.

Lyrics

Should have listened to him
First words that he said
save it for your family save what's in your head
I hear the words you whisper, I wish that they were true
cause I would wait forever if I thought I could get through
Never gonna hear me, never gonna see
never be the one that you said you would be

and from here; you don't hear any words I say
from here, the walls whisper your secrets everyday
from here, I stand in this valley all alone
from here, I don't know my way back home

I bow my head in sorrow
as blackness takes the room
my skin is catching fire
as I'm howling at the moon

From here , you don't hear any words I say
from here, the walls whisper my secrets every day
from here, I walk through this valley all alone
from here, I don't know my way back home

from here
from here from here
I don't know I don't know I don't know my way back home

from here from here from here
oh from here help me find my way back home
