Blues rock tune about being down, sad. As defined in Websters dictionary, "discouraged; in low spirits" There is also a desperate plea for some kind of salvation with references to God and Jesus, and the symbolism of the river, since that is where historically people go to get baptized "saved", or to meditate and send their problems on through the ever infinite movement of water. There was a thought of BB King's "3 O'clock in the Morning" when writing this tune. Less of a "you done me wrong" theme and more of a "I'm throwing my hands up" theme. A commentary derived from the current times, and the common theme we all share of going low to figure out how to get back up again.
